Big Freedom
GDME (Gerhard Daum Music Edition) is a renowned music library with the goal of providing high concept music that meets the modern zeitgeist and connects with the listener. It was launched 2001 in Los Angeles by the award winning film music composer Gerhard Daum.
Since GDMEs founding over a decade ago, numerous major distributing agents have been our partners in establishing our media music library in the United States and across the world. These include the Hollywood based music house Groove Addicts as well as Warner/Chappell PM, which became our distributor for the entire American market in 2010. GDMEs catalogue ranges from action packed Hollywood style cues to minimalistic, sophisticated pieces to orchestral works. What makes this catalogue exceptional, however, is not only its wide variety, but the overall excellence in quality and style.
GDME is now based in Berlin with its own recording studio, writing and producing unique original music for film, TV, trailers, games, commercials as well as music/sound branding for corporate clients.
As part of our sustainability strategy, our studio is based in a building that meets the passive-house standard and provides a nearly self-sufficient power supply via two photovoltaic systems on its green roof. Sustainability is an important part of our values and plays a role in how we make decisions.
